Winter Festivus 2005 - Invites Mailed!

Hey folks,

PDF invites have been emailed / snail mailed etc for those who've expressed an interest. Dates will be 12/26 - 1/3 although I'm considering staying out there for a few more days. If you didn't get an invite but would like to go, drop me a line, we restrict invitees due to the number of beds but not everyone can go, so lemme know and we'll find u a warm place to sleep (next to a black bear perhaps). :)

Don't forget to RSVP!

The Ballard U-boat

The Ballard U-boat division

Strange things u see while kayaking I guess... In any case the driver of the U-boat above later popped out of the conning tower at Ivars near the University bridge. He was wearing a US Submarines t-shirt and chowing down on some clams n' chips. Perhaps this is a personal sub prototype? or maybe just a fun way to look wierd when gettin' lunch?

Sailing in Puget Sound

The office decided that we were gettin' a bit too tense and took us out sailing. So a company called Sailing Seattle was chartered to haul our engineer / manager butts around the water for awhile.

Interestingly enuff since we're at terror alert tangerine the ferry boats passing by were escorted for the first mile of their journey by 2 20' coast guard open zodiacs and one 25' coast guard sea zodiac armed with two SAW's each. I'm not exactly sure what sort of terrorist attack these craft defend against, however I woudln't try and break their perimeter around the ferry... unless of course you want a hole-y boat.

Here's some snapshots from our serene lil beer filled sailboat of the action...

Fourth of July Explosives!

Anyone who knows me very well knows that for the past.. uh.. 20 years i've been obsessed with fireworks. Each year i'd save more and more coins throughout the year.. putting them in jars, boxes etc... until finally cashing them out @ coinstar (or at the bank in days before coinstar). Anyways I finally maxed out one year at $350! on fireworks. Last year i didn't buy anything :( so to make up for it this year i'm gonna buy early and often!

Also it's my tofuboy friend's birthday on July 3rd. Not exactly sure where we're gonna blast 'em but just like every other year, things will work out and we'll have someplace to start a fire :)

Shopping list for this year:
1. New Lexane for the rocket launchers (i'll post photos so you can check 'em out)
2. Terminator 11oz. Rockets (if you can find them that is) (oh boy do they rock)
3. Vampire rockets (8oz.)
4. Explosives (m-80's and the like)
5. Buzz bombs
6. Pill bombs (not really bombs, sometimes called spaceships)
7. Festival balls (we found that the big double breaks are better than the triples)
8. New support pins for the festival ball quad launcher (i'll post photos of that bad boy too)
9. Missiles 8+ oz.
10. Some way of launching the missiles (maybe another turret type weapon?)
11. Loud medium rockets (whats the point if you don't have to cover you ears?)

Anyways i'm sure we'll be trying to get everyone together for BBQ's and the eventual destruction of paper with flame. I'll post more here once we get some stuff figured out.

Return from Island Park

Ok it took me 6 months but i finally remembered to post these photos. These are the photos from Winter Festivus 2004. Winter Festivus 2005 is very much going to happen and there's going to be quite a bit more stuff going on this year with the hot tub, the pool table, the ice skating and more. Look for you invites in about 4 months ;)

Enjoy!

Snow! and Lots of it

A snowed in haus

Stylish hats were required

We left the quads and took to the trails on sleds

Flying snowmobiles are best :)

It's cold when the *inside* of the car window starts to frost and freeze. At this point it was 12 degrees outside. It got down to 4.

Kayak Seattle

I'm a frequent visitor to Lake Union in a yellow Kayak. Seattle's a pretty city when viewed from the water. I've been taking these photos for awhile now, and thought i might post a couple.

Sometimes i'm in a gray kayak instead.
