Whistler Winter Festival (WWF)

So yet again, April 14-17th is the Whistler Winter Festival, and that means it's time for the K-Town Krew (or portions of it at least) to bear several hours of driving together to make their way to the land of snow drinking and ski jumping.

Last October's trip involved some climbing, some damage to squirrely truck (namely the trailering portions of the truck), some videos of ski jumping f00s, and the unlikely (and unholy) combination of absynthe and rainier beer X-P. Hopefully this year will be a repeat of last year, maybe with a bit less ranier and bit more bear encounters (only 1 black bear near the condo and 1 baby black bear near the river last year)...

Beautiful beach at barking sands and awesome canyons at the south end of the Na Pali coast. It was one of days where it was so bright you needed multiple pairs of sunglasses

Plants on our way to the beach north of Barking sands missile base. The beach is on Pelehale state park.

From the Waimea canyon overlook, a nice pic of the waterfalls in the valley below. Nice day...

A slightly smaller waterfall on the way to the bigger one.

IMO the best picture I took the entire time I was in Kauai. I like organized trees i guess, and this trail was pretty cool.

A slightly better framed waterfall photo

Good thing the waterproof case was on my camera... It was misty near the waterfall.

The Kayak was the preferred method of transportation on the river. Happens to be my preferred method of transportation on lake Union so this was convenient and fun!

Yours truly having a sit in the waterfall we hiked to on the north fork of the Wailua river on Kauai's East side.

More sailing into the sun.

Taro and Rice made for an interesting photo :)

There may have been bad people on the boat, at least these folks seem afraid of it....

Hawaiian Photos Posted!

Latest Photos from Hawaii. All of these are from Kauai.

All the Kauai photos were taken with a Sony DSCP-100 using a MPK-PHB marine pack. This camera is great for quick snapshots, yet still provides a pretty good set of manual controls for exposure and white balance. Oh ya,,, it goes underwater without getting wet ;).. Of course the non-wet (u dont see water) photos were taken without the MPK-PHB but I found that the marine pack didn't seem to hinder the photos in any way.

One note though, is that the LCD is difficult to see underwater in bright sunlight inside the marine pack. I guess that's why people install those big plastic crosshairs on the top of their underwater cameras.

I guess that's a todo for the next wet camera trip :)
